200-Hour Teacher Training 2018
Training dates are as follow:
Thursday, November 1 – Thursday, November 8th 8:00am – 5:30pm
Friday , November 16th to Sunday, November 25th 8:00am-5:30pm
Tuition (includes complimentary YTT One Month Unlimited classes at the Labs)
Regular Price $4,000
Early Bird Price $3,500 (Early bird full payment to be made by October 1st, 2018.)
Assessment will be based on the following:
Completion of all required class hours
Completion of all overnight assignments and final essay
Passing grade for Community class
Passing grade for Practicum
Passing grade for written examinations
Successful graduates will be awarded the 200 Hour Certificate of Completion with which they may register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT-200.
Applicants should have an established yoga practice of at least 6 months of regular practice.

Betty Kong (Lead Instructor) | ERYT-500
Betty (ERYT 500) currently co-owns and manages Yoga Lab with Jasmine. She founded one of the first boutique yoga studio in Singapore seven years ago and since then she has been an significant contribution to the yoga community.
Betty is also one of the first few Baptiste Certified Teacher around the region. She is grateful to called Baron Baptiste her teacher and hopes to empower and inspire teachers and students just how Baron has been empowering and inspiring her. She started her teaching journey in 2007 in Vancouver Canada where she enjoyed most of her childhood. To Betty, yoga is a way of life. She believes that the practice on the yoga mat and yoga as a lifestyle, cannot be separated. Her teaching and yoga practice is also greatly inspired by other beautiful teachers like Patrick Creelman and Arun Rana. Betty also holds certificates in Hot, Yin, Prenatal/Postnatal, Vinyasa flow, and Kids Yoga.
Jasmine Chong (Instructor) | ERYT-200
Jasmine (ERYT-200) is the founder of Yoga Lab. The opening of Yoga Lab is Jasmine’s way
of spreading her deep love for the practice, and she is thrilled to provide a safe environment for practitioners of all levels and a space for all to share their passion for yoga. Yoga Lab merged with Updog Studio in December 2016 and Jasmine considers herself very blessed to have her mentor, Betty, running Yoga Lab with her.
For Jasmine, what started as a means to lose weight seven years ago quickly became a passion and a respite from a dissatisfactory lifestyle. She left her corporate job in 2014 to embark on an exciting journey to share her knowledge and experience in yoga with as many people as she can. She took her YTT under Arun Rana. Jasmine has over 2000 hours of teaching. As a teacher, Jasmine is nurturing and encouraging, and her classes focus strongly on form and alignment. She has designed the ‘Power’ classes at Yoga Lab to enable students and to empower teachers through well-thought out sequences.
Jasmine has had the privilege of training under skillful teachers such as Christina Sell, Sienna Sherman, Noah Maze, Patrick Beach, Dylan Werner and Meghan Currie. She is also a certified prenatal and yoga therapy instructor.
Jasmine’s journey has just began and she is committed to learning and sharing her knowledge with her students.
Marian Ang (Guest Instructor)
Marian: What drew me to practising yoga again in 2009 as a twenty something was the discovery of how much self-awareness the practice asked for. It spoke to something within me, a sense that I could master this aspect of life and learn to pass it on. Practice led to the quest for a teacher training certification and eventually embarking on the path as a yoga teacher.
Becoming a teacher helped me see things in a clearer light over time. I started to realize that while I was ready for a path of self-awareness with big plans to help everyone who crossed my path grow in the same way, the reality is that not everyone who steps onto a mat to practise might be searching for the same things, or are at a very different place in their lives at that moment, with unseen preoccupations and concerns. The lesson of letting go of the ego as a teacher is rather different than that of a practitioner. I might come into class with a lesson plan in mind, but often I’ve learnt to let go of any attachment to that plan if the students who step into class that day need an alternative plan. In time, everyone grows at their own pace and style, and I’ve learnt to develop more sensitivity and awareness of students, being present and supportive to propose and facilitate progress but not directing it to happen ahead of its time.
The other paradigm that teaching has shifted for me is that, I can’t please everyone all the time, and I rightly shouldn’t because then it would mean I wasn’t authentic or being my true self. My teaching style is grounded and calm with minimal intervention, the way I prefer to practise as well as I need time and space to work things out myself. If I tried to adopt another teacher’s style, I would have most certainly lost my own identity. I learnt (and am still learning!) to work around this by being comfortable to stay true to myself whilst experimenting with little ideas gleaned from other teachers. Most certainly as a modern-day female like many out there who wear multiple hats, I can sometimes be too hard on myself if I feel I haven’t been enough of a sister, friend, daughter, mother, (fill in the blanks). Being a yoga teacher has taught me up to this point, that it’s truly ok who and where I am.

Betty is one of the warmest person I know. As a teacher she is patient, and she cares so much for every single student, and wants each one of our experiences to be full, and powerful; and it was. She is precise, technical and exacting on one hand, yet warm, nurturing and compassionate on the other. Her teachings are empowering and genuine and together these abilities make her an incredible yoga teacher. My favourite moment of each YTT day was her reading of passages while we stay in stillness (very trying at times).
JASMINE has an alive, sparkling energy that fills every room she walks into. Her soul is one that knows how to have fun, and to seize every moment. She is always genuinely willing to help and look after her students and strives to provide such kindness even outside of class. She clearly loves yoga, and is a great teacher.
My journey through the 200‐hour program allowed me to grow, to be myself, and to feel so very supported in that. Both teachers begin from the start of teacher training and infuses in us the core philosophy behind yoga and then teach from example. From the starting point of explaining in small easily digestible segments the practical relevance of Patanjali’s eight limbs of yoga they set in motion our own yogic journey. For me, the spiritual aspect turned out to be exactly what I needed.
The classes were planned in such a way that students were able to handle and really enjoy the training. They provide a non- judgmental and conducive environment that encourage growth, change, and healing. Both are amazing teachers! They nurture, motivate, and share their extensive yoga knowledge with a dose of humour which made the training a rewarding experience. I love my YTT for I feel in my heart that the two of them come from such an honest place.”
“In the 16 days of YTT, I journeyed with 11 other like-minded individuals from different walks of life, all bearing the same love of yoga as I did. Not only did we cover the fundamentals of asanas, we also journeyed deeper into ourselves to understand and fully develop ourselves as unique and authentic individuals, equipped to share our love of the practice in our own different ways. Through journaling, reflection and meditation, we sought to find the answers within ourselves to the different questions we all had in our heads.
